                           Lansdowne


Lansdowne an Army area and a beautiful hill station in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. This was named on a British officer Lansdowne, this was discovered as an Army Cantt area during British Rule and now this is the main office of Garhwal Rifles. This beautiful town is situated approximately 45 km away from Kothdwar and 1780 meters high from sea level.

   Close to colonial-era St. Mary’s Church, Tip-n-Top viewpoint is perched up on a ridge overlooking forested hills. Hindu devotees worship Shiva at the centuries-old Kaleshwar Temple.
Being an Army  Head office this has a lot of things to visit and look which are related to our Army in which War memorial which is at the Parade Ground of this center is famous attraction for visitors.
If you want to explore this place to you will have to get permission from military authority.

Apart from this Lansdowne has lot of other places to visit which are 
  Tip n Top View Point, Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple this is dedicated to Lord Shiva and lot of devotees come here to worship Lord Shiva specially in the month of monsoon, Santoshi Mata Temple, Regimental Museum (also called the Darwan Singh Sanghralaya), Bhullatal Lake, St. Mary's Church, and Lover's lane. Excursions from the city can go to the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Bhairav Garhi Temple, Bhim Pakora. The Annual ‘Sharadotsava’ (Festival of Autumn) also takes place. 

Darwan Singh Sanghralaya has all the things which are related to Gharwal Rifles.
So if you want to have a memorable experience in a beautiful hill stations which is far from lot of people so visit in this town.
