Badrinath Yatra
Badrinath is a holi and small town and a Nagar Panchyat in Chamoli which falls in Uttarakhand State of India Bdarinath town got it's name from Badrinath temple.
Badrinath is Only one temple which is part of Char Dham and Choti Char Sham yatra people call it Badrinarayan or Badrinath. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and this Temple is at Badrinath Town. It is situated in a cold area so it remains closed for 6 months and it opens between or end of April and gets close in November.
The temple is situated in Garhwal at Chamoli on the bank of River Alaknanda on approx 10279 ft above the sea level. If we talk about this Temple so this is the most visited temple from Char Dhams and Chota Char Dhams in 2019 more than 1400000 people visited in this Dham.
The idol which is worshipped in this Temple is a 1 ft and this is the black statue of lord Vishnu.
This is also famous for Ma Murti Ka Mela which commemorates the holy of Ganges on Earth, this is the prominent Mela celebrated in Badrinath Temple.
As it is located in North India and the head priest of this Temple is a Nambudiri Brahmin who is from Kerala.
This Temple came Utter Pradesh government act no. 30/1948 as act no. 161939 when Uttarakhand was part of Utter Pradesh later it is known as Shri Badrinath and Shri Kedarnath mandir act.
The committee nominated by the state government administers both the temples and has seventeen members on its board.
We find this Temple is ancient texts like Vishnu Puran and Skanda Puran, this is one of the Char Dhams which was chosen by Aadiguru Sankaracharya to spread Hindusim and save it's integrative.
