 Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park for protecting the mighty Royal Bengal tiger, this park is oldest National Park of India. Corbett National Park is situated in Pauri and Nainital districts of Uttarakhand and got it's name as Jim Corbett on a naturalist and Hunter Sir Jim Corbett, this is the first national Park which started project tiger in 1973.
This park is in sub Himalyan belt This park is the best ecotourism destination for bird and wildlife lover. This park is home of 588 different species of birds and 100+ species of wild animals.
Corbett Park Has been a best wildlife destination for wildlife lovers  and tourism activities are only allowed 520.8 sq km from it's 1318sq km area.
In recent years numbers of people who Visit in the park has been crossing 100000, but in 2020 this park was closed on 19 March because of Covide19 and tourism activities are closed so Corbett administration has to refund 6 crores which is a big loss.


This park is full of forest and it has mainly sal, haldu, peepal, rohini and mango trees.  from 1317 sq km 73% of this park is covered with forest 10% big grasslands and other park has rivers this is home of 110 species of plants.
As this park was opened in 1991 for tourists and 45000 visited at that time.
In 1994- 95 Jhirna And Dhela became part of this park.

Tourism Zone In Corbett
Dhikala is best destination this is the zone in which you can get night stay as well this is located in Patli Dun valley. This zone is famous for Tigers and big grasslands on which it named Dhikala.

Bijrani - Bijrani is one of the most Visited zones of this park and you can get jeep Safari in order to explore this zone.

Durga Devi- Durga Devi is 32 away from main city Ramnagar and it is well known for Birdwatching and Elephant corridor.

Jhirna - Jhirna got it's name from Jhirna village this was established in 1994 to ecotourism this zone is famous for Tigers and deers.

Dhela- Dhela is one of the most Visited zones of Corbett and famous for its dense. Forest and wild animals.

Sitabani - This got name on the temple of mata Seeta now this is the best zone for Birdwatching apart from birds you can see tigers and elephants as well.

Things To Do In Corbett

Jeep Safari is the only way to explore the wild and in this you get an open jeep it is not far from adventure to face wild animals front of you on open jeep.

Canter Safari it is only for Dhikala zone of Corbett on one canter 16 people can go in one day 4 Canters go inside the park 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening.

Treks people are not allowed to go inside the park but other places which do not come inside the park but these are dense forest and rocks you may go for trekking.

Fishing-  A bug area is situated on the bank of Kosi river so if you like fishing this is going to be best choice.

Birdwatching this is the best park in India for them who love bird watching this is home of 588 species for birds.

Photography Corbett National Park is full of big mountains, River, falls and other things so if you love photography so this is must visited place.

Other Attraction
Kalagarh Dam- this is famous destination for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers because animals come here to have water.
Corbett fall this is on Nainital road a fall which falls from 20 meters and if you visit here so lot of chances are here to see new birds and animals.

Girija Devi Mandir this is situated on a rock and surrounded by Kosi river it is believed that you come here so you get prosperity and peace in life.

Hanuman Dham this is situated 6 km away from main city Ramnagar on Haldwani and Nainital road this is believed as birth place of Lord Hanuman.

Museum - 2 museums are here one on Ranikhet road and second on Haldwani road this are full of marks which Sir Jim Corbett used to use.
