Almora a town on the top of hill,  district headquarter and a municipal board in Uttarakhand. Almora is situated at southern side of kumaun at Himalayas foothills with 370 km distance from Delhi and 390 km away from Dehradun. As per it's population in 2011 it had 35413.
Located on one of the highest hill of Himalayan region you will get mild climate around the year. 
Almora is known for its beauty and thousands of visitors come here from all over the world. Raja Kalyan Chand founded this town in 1568 a d after that it used to be Capital of Chand Rajas since that time Almora is recognize as cultural heart of Kumaun region.


Almora is a beautiful place and hill station and this is surrounded by oaks and pines which make it more attractive.
From Almora you get a snow capped mesmerizing view of Himalaya which makes your day cool. 
 As per local says the place got it's name Almora from a small fruit and tiny plant Kilmora which you can get in a big amount nearby this place and used to wash utensils of Surya temple. It is on a ridge which are known as Selifat and Talifat.

Almora is recognize for its attractive location, mind-blowing view of Himalaya, culture one of the best handicrafts, Hilly food Singori and Bal mithai.
 As Uttarakhand is known Devbhumi so in this order Almora has lot of temples in which Chitai Golu Dev, Nanda Devi, Kashar Devi and Surya mandir are famous and other Important temples are Binsar mahadev and Jageshwar Mahadev and these are little far from main Market.
Lal Bazar has been a shopping hub for last more than 200 years and Almora is famous for Angola, Phichora and vessels which is made by copper.

Almora is best destination for tourists and more than 90000 tourists come here per year and explore this town, it  offers wildlife and some other things which you must do in Almora.
Adventures activities-  being a hill stations it has a lot option which can be done by tourists like Bungi jumping, Rock climbing and Spider web etc.

Cycling- Cycling is healthy for our body and you can enjoy this in mall road and jungle side with cold air blows.

Shopping- As it is famous for shopping so if you come so you must go to Lal Bazar and do shopping.
