Jageshwar Dham
With the great example of architecture on stone most of the temples are dedicated to lord shiva, Jageshwar is a Hindu Pilgrimage and a small town and a best center of Shiva’s tradition, this is protected by Indian law and well managed by the Archaeological
department of India. It includes Dandeshwar Temple, Chandi-ka-Temple, Jageshwar Temple, Kuber Temple, Mrityunjaya Temple, Nanda Devi or Nau Durga, Nava-grah temple, a Pyramidal shrine, and Surya Temple. The site celebrates the Jageshwar Monsoon Festival during the Hindu calendar month of Shravan (overlaps with July–August) and the annual Maha Shivratri Mela (Shivratri festival), which takes place in early spring. Jageshwar Dham is on the south of the road, across which is an eponymous village at an altitude of 1,870 m, in the Jata Ganga river valley near Deodar forest (Cedrus deodara). Road cuts to Jageshwar dham from the Almora- Pithoragarh highway. Jageshwar is about 93 km from Baijnath temple and about 100 km from nainital and about 100 km from Pithoragarh. During Shivratri Bakth comes here to offer Gangajal to Lord Shiva and in this time it becomes overcrowded.
