Bageshwar is district headquarter, a town and a municipal board in Uttarakhand this is 332 km away from Dehradun and 470 km from Delhi. Bageshwar has its own reputation in tourism places because of ancient temples, Glaciers and river.
This town is located on the confluence of Gomati and Saryu Rivers. This town is surrounded with mountains and these are Bhileshwar and Nileshwar to its east and west in north Agni Kind and south Suraj Kund. Bageshwar was a big trade center between Kumaun and Tibet and started by Bhotiya traders who used to carry wares, wool, salt and borax and other things but this center market was destroyed because of Indo China was 1962.
This has great historic, political and religious significance Bageshwar got it's name from Bagnath temple and this name is mentioned in lot of Old texts Purana.

Bagnath Temple At the confluence of Saryu and Gomati temple is situated and this is dedicated to Bag nath ( God of Tiger) this new temple was built-up by Raja Laxmi Chand near 1450 AD.
Sriharu Temple
Another important temple, the Sriharuarauri temple is situated approximate 5 km away from Bageshwar main market it is believed that if you pray in this temple it gives you prosperity.
